To embroider on a journey
Instead of the many small patches I normally used to start my embroideries with, I one year brought small film cans with color for textile printing. South of the Atlas Mountains, In Tafraout, I printed starting points for my embroideries on a small and shaky table in my hotel room . Stencils were cut out from newspaper and a small roller was used to create random patterns. Then with yarn and stitches I just let my images take shape and I could spend the rest of my time with pleasure-embroidery on the roof terrace. Maybe later some more color was needed - embroidery and print in a continuous interaction.

This have since been my most important working method.
